It was bedtime. Chris and his father sat down side by side on Chris\u2019s bed. They talked of Chris\u2019s friend Alexander, the red horse with green stripes.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlexander was a pretty bad horse today,\u201d Chris said. \u201cHe wouldn\u2019t eat his cereal. He wouldn\u2019t sit up at the table and he spilled his milk.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s too bad,\u201d said Chris\u2019s father. \u201cWhat else happened?\u201d<\/p>\n
Their ensuing conversation of Alexander\u2019s bad day makes for an entertaining read, along with its loving ending as Chris\u2019s father remarks, \u201cAlexander will be a wonderful little horse tomorrow and you\u2019ll be a wonderful little boy, too.\u201d<\/p>\n
