This book, Notes on Insects, was written by educator and author James George Needham and contains forms for the pupil to use in the field, to aid in observation and identification.

The images in this notebook are meant to be ‘stippled’ and printed lightly, so as to be easily altered to be made like a particular species.

The light, grey, stippled insects are intentional and not a defect.

“The beauty of ARTistic Pursuits is that I can relax and just let my daughter work through the text on her own, confident that she is getting a quality art education. She may not become a great artist, but she is learning the elements of art, how to evaluate the art around her, and her own confidence is growing as her skills are improving. ARTistic Pursuits has earned its place as a staple in our home, and in the homeschool community.” ~ April Elstrom, The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine, LLC

Dr. Frederick Franck explains the process of how he translated his drawings of the Christian Stations of the Cross and the ancient Zen parable of the oxherd into stained glass panels, all of which are reproduced in this book in color. After exhibitions in the 1990s, culminating with a three-month show in the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York City, the stained glass panels were placed in a specially designed building in the Pacem in Terris garden in Warwick, New York, where they remain.
